A non-invasive system and method are provided for determinating the presence or absence or neural, muscular, soft tissue, hone or joint damage or other disease affecting a person's hand. A preferred system includes a plurality of digit contact members, one of which is engageable by the person's thumb and others which are engageable by other digits of the hand, at least one of the other digits being innervate by the ulnas nerve. Force detectors (10, 11, 12) arc operatively connected to at least two of the digit contact members by at least one digit innervated by the median nerve and a digit innervated by the ulnas nerve, as they engage in a natural gripping motion. The measured forces may he used to calculate quality indices useful in the diagnosis of disease and the monitoring of progression of disease.
L'invention concerne un système et un procédé non-invasifs permettant de déterminer la présence ou l'absence de tissus nerveux, musculaires ou mou, d'une lésion osseuse ou articulaire ou d'autres maladies affectant la main d'un individu. Un système privilégié comprend une pluralité d'éléments de contact digital, l'un de ces éléments entrant en contact avec le pouce de la personne et les autres éléments entrant en contact avec les autres doigts de la main. Au moins un des autres doigts est innervé par le muscle cubital. Des détecteurs de forces (10, 11, 12) sont connectés de manière opérationnelle à au moins deux éléments de contact digital par au moins un doigt innervé par le nerf médian et un doigt innervé par le nerf cubital, au fur et à mesure qu'ils entrent dans un mouvement naturel de serrage.
