A footwear device (2000) comprises an elongate main base (2100) for supporting the foot (2001) of a user thereon and a transverse adjustment device (3000) on the main base (2100) for mounting to a sports implement (9000). The transverse adjustment device (3000) comprises an adjustment device base (3100) and a binding mounting base (3300) which are moveable relative to each other in a direction transversely of the main base (2100). In a further embodiment the footwear device (2000) comprises an elongate base (2100) for supporting the foot (2001) of the user thereon and a heel counter (2300) on the base (2100) for contact with the foot (2001) of the user posterior to posterior aspect of the heel of the foot. The heel counter (2300) is rotatable relative to the base (2100) about an axis substantially perpendicular to the base (2100) for changing the orientation of the heel counter (2300) relative to the longitudinal access of the base (2100).
