A process for upgrading a heavy hydrocarbon includes the steps of obtaining a heavy hydrocarbon; contacting the heavy hydrocarbon with a solvent at upgrading conditions so as to produce a first product comprising a mixture of upgraded hydrocarbon and solvent and a second product comprising asphaltene waste, water and solvent; and feeding the first product to a separator to separate the upgraded hydrocarbon from the solvent. A system is also provided.
Un procédé pour améliorer un hydrocarbure lourd comprend les étapes suivantes : obtention de l'hydrocarbure lourd; mise en contact de l'hydrocarbone lourd avec un solvant dans des conditions permettant l'amélioration, ce qui génère un mélange de l'hydrocarbure amélioré et de solvant et un second produit renfermant des déchets d'asphaltène, de l'eau et le solvant; acheminement du premier produit à un séparateur qui sépare l'hydrocarbure du solvant. On propose également un système à cet effet.
