A remote sensing system and method for instrumenting the entries to manhole enclosures, in order to provide a platform and means f sensing environmental parameters within and around the enclosures and wirelessly transmitting those parameters to a distant site. T system comprises a housing (10) with sensor for monitoring environmental prararreter in the vicinity of the manhole. A microcontrol (12) in the housing sends the parameters to a radio module (13), which transmits the parameters to a communication device for alerting a user that a manhole has been tampered with.
L'invention concerne un système de détection à distance et un procédé d'instrumentation des entrées dans des enceintes à trou d'homme, afin de fournir une plate-forme ainsi qu'un moyen de détection de paramètres environnementaux à l'intérieur et autour des enceintes et de transmettre sans fil ces paramètres jusqu'à un site distant. Le système comprend un logement doté d'un détecteur destiné à contrôler le paramètre environnemental au voisinage du trou d'homme. Un microcontrôleur dans le logement envoie les paramètres à un module radio, lequel transmet les paramètres à un dispositif de communication destiné à alerter un utilisateur qu'un trou d'homme a fait l'objet d'une tentative d'intervention illicite.
