Improved systems and methods for distributing interdomain routing information within an Autonomous System (AS). A protocol extension to BGP, iBGPd (internal Border Gateway Protocol downloader), has been developed to replace IBGP in distributing BGP interdomain routing information within an AS. The iBGPd technique distributes routing information hop-by-hop using a reliable multi- party transport protocol. Scalability is greatly improved since the use of a full mesh of TCP connections is avoided. Also, there are improvements in routing information propagation delay and routing stability. Drawbacks related to the use of route reflectors and confederations are avoided.
La présente invention se rapporte à des systèmes perfectionnés et à des procédés permettant de distribuer des informations d'acheminement entre domaines à l'intérieur d'un système autonome (AS). Une extension de protocole à BGP, iBGPd (téléchargeur à protocole BGP interne), a été développée pour remplacer IBGP s'agissant de la distribution d'informations d'acheminement entre domaines BGP au sein d'un système autonome (AS). La technique iBGPd distribue des informations d'acheminement en mode saut par saut au moyen d'un protocole de transport fiable vers de multiples parties. L'extensibilité est ainsi considérablement améliorée du fait qu'il est possible d'éviter l'utilisation d'un réseau maillé complet de connexions TCP. Des améliorations sont également obtenues s'agissant du retard de propagation des informations d'acheminement et de la stabilité d'acheminement. Les inconvénients associés à l'utilisation de réflecteurs d'acheminement et de confédérations sont évités.
