An intraocular lens for inhibiting PCO and glare includes an optic having a periphery provided with a sharp edge which presses against the posterior capsule wall thereby creating a barrier to LEC migration. While the sharp edge forms a 90~ angle, the anterior peripheral surface portion extends along an arc which directs incident light striking the edge of the lens away from the retina.

L'invention concerne une lentille intra-oculaire, destinée à inhiber l'opacification de capsule postérieure (PCO) et l'éblouissement, comprenant une optique avec une bordure périphérique aiguë pressant contre la paroi de la capsule postérieure ce qui crée une barrière à la migration des cellules épithéliales sur la lentille. Alors que la bordure aiguë forme un angle de 90·, la portion de surface périphérique antérieure s'étend selon un arc qui dirige la lumière incidente sur la bordure de la lentille, en dehors de la rétine.
