The present invention provides a process for the preparation of substituted aromatic amino compounds which are substituted by at least one -CN multiple bond or a carbonyl group on the aromatic radical or in side chain, by catalytic hydrogenation of appropriate substituted aromatic nitro compounds in the presence of a modified noble metal catalyst, which process comprises the use as nobel metal catalyst of platinum which is modified with a metal selected from the group consisting of lead, mercury, bismuth, germanium, cadmium, arsenic, antimony, silver and gold.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de préparation de composés amino aromatiques substitués, lesquels sont substitués, sur le radical aromatique ou sur une chaîne latérale, par au moins une liaison multiple -CN ou un groupe carbonyle, ce procédé consistant à hydrogéner de manière catalytique des composés nitro aromatiques substitués et appropriés, en présence d'un catalyseur à base d'un métal noble modifié, et à utiliser en tant que tel, un catalyseur à base de platine que l'on modifie à l'aide d'un métal choisi dans le groupe constitué par le plomb, le mercure, le bismuth, le germanium, le cadmium, l'arsenic, l'antimoine, l'argent et l'or.
