An improved tube probe for measuring volatile compounds in a liquid or gas contained in a reactor or in any other environment is disclosed as are improved gas detecting mechanisms. The probe is made of a single piece of metal (10), to one end of which is attached a gas permeable tubing (26), threaded on a supporting plate (28). The plate permits to use of a variety of tube lengths and diameters while protecting the tube from mechanical stress due to agitation and aeration. Furthermore, the plate gives the possibility to have a longer permeable tube than the single loop probe approach. The probe is designed so that when in use, substantially only the tube is located inside the reactor. The volatile compounds permeate into the tube into the carrier gas and the carrier gas + volatiles mixture is carried to a detector through a channel provided in the probe body. Novel electrical circuits to operate a gas sensing element are also disclosed.
L'invention concerne une sonde tubulaire perfectionn~e permettant de mesurer des compos~s volatils dans un liquide ou gaz contenu dans un r~acteur ou dans tout autre environnement, ainsi que des m~canismes am~lior~s de d~tection de gaz. La sonde est faite d'une seule pice m~tallique (10), ~ une extr~mit~ de laquelle est rattach~ un tube (26) perm~able aux gaz, filet~ sur une plaque (28) de support. La plaque permet d'utiliser des tubes de diff~rentes longueurs et de diff~rents diamtres tout en prot~geant le tube contre les contraintes m~caniques dues ~ l'agitation et ~ l'a~ration. De plus, la plaque permet d'utiliser un tube perm~able plus long que dans une sonde ~ boucle unique. La sonde est configur~e de manire qu'en cours d'utilisation, le tube seulement soit situ~ ~ l'int~rieur du r~acteur. Les compos~s volatils traversent le tube dans le gaz porteur et le m~lange gaz porteur + compos~s volatils est transport~ jusqu'~ un d~tecteur par un canal situ~ dans le corps de la sonde. L'invention concerne ~galement de nouveaux circuits ~lectriques de commande d'un ~l~ment de d~tection de gaz.
