Styrene Oxide Adducts Abstract A styrene oxide adduct of the formula (1a') Image wherein R is an aliphatic radical having at least 4 carbon atoms, one of Y1 and Y2 is phenyl and the other is hydrogen, and m is a number from 4 to 80, its acid ester or a salt thereof. These products are a novel class of nonionic or anionic surfactants which are useful as textile processing aids, in particular as emulsifiers, wetting agents, antifoams or dyeing assistants.
