The invention relates to surface-modified nanoparticles, the surfaces of which are almost completely or totally covered with: (A) modifying groups that are bound covalently to the surface by means of linking functional groups (a) and that contain spacer, inert groups (b) and reactive, functional groups (c) which are bound to the groups (a) by means of groups (b) which are inert in comparison with the reactive, functional groups of the surface to be modified; (B) modifying groups that are covalently bound to the surface by means of linking functional groups (a) and that contain inert groups (d) having a smaller hydrodynamic volume V<SB>H</SB> than that of the spacer, inert groups (Ab) and (C) modifying groups that are bound to the surface by means of linking functional groups (a) which contain at least one silicon atom, that contain inert groups (e) and that have a smaller hydrodynamic volume V<SB>H</SB> than modifying groups (A). The invention also relates to dispersions containing said nanoparticles, to a method for the production and the utilization of the inventive nanoparticles.

L'invention concerne des nanoparticules à surface modifiée, c'est-à-dire dont la surface est complètement ou presque complètement recouverte avec : (A) des groupes de modification qui sont liés, par l'intermédiaire de groupes fonctionnels (a) de liaison, de façon covalente à la surface et contiennent des groupes inertes (b) espaceurs et des groupes (c) fonctionnels réactifs, qui sont liés, par l'intermédiaire des groupes (b), aux groupes (a) et sont inertes par rapport aux groupes fonctionnels réactifs de la surface à modifier ; (B) des groupes de modification qui sont liés, par l'intermédiaire de groupes fonctionnels (a) de liaison, de façon covalente à la surface et contiennent des groupes inertes (d) présentant un volume hydrodynamique V<SB>H</SB> plus petit que celui des groupes inertes (Ab) espaceurs ; et (C) des groupes de modification qui sont liés à la surface par l'intermédiaire de groupes fonctionnels (a) de liaison qui contiennent au moins un atome de silicium, qui contiennent des groupes inertes (e) et qui présentent un volume hydrodynamique V<SB>H</SB> plus petit que celui des groupes de modification (A). L'invention concerne également des dispersions contenant ces nanoparticules, leur procédé de production et leur utilisation.
