A mortise lock integrated trim mechanism is provided for mounting on the surface of a door and has a handle turning a spindle that extends into the door to operate a lock mechanism mounted therein. The trim assembly is pre- assembled and has a retracting spindle that extends between the trim mechanism and the lock mechanism to accommodate varying door thicknesses. The preferred assembly utilizes a cover plate, spring and mounting plate assembly holding a pair of alignment pins. This assembly is fit onto a door handle and secured to the door handle by a cap nut. An elongated spring is disposed in the handle and is secured to a spindle which axially extends from the handle. The spindle is automatically retracted to maximally fit into the hub of a mortise lock.

L'invention concerne un ensemble de garniture intégré à serrure à mortaise destiné à être monté sur la surface d'une porte et possédant une poignée faisant tourner une tige qui s'étend dans la porte afin d'actionner un mécanisme de verrouillage monté à l'intérieur de la porte. L'ensemble de garniture est préassemblé et comporte une tige rétractable qui s'étend entre le mécanisme de garniture et le mécanisme de verrouillage afin de loger diverses épaisseurs de porte. L'ensemble préféré utilise une plaque de finition, un ressort et un ensemble plaque de montage supportant une paire de tiges d'alignement. Cet ensemble est logé sur une poignée de porte et fixé à la poignée de porte au moyen d'un écrou borgne. Un ressort de forme allongée est placé dans la poignée et est fixé à une tige qui s'étend axialement à partir de la poignée. Cette tige est automatiquement rétractée afin de se loger au plus profond du fouillot d'une serrure à mortaise.
