The novel pressurized sealable transportable container basically includes a box-shaped cassette reservoir provided with a slot-shaped access opening normally tightly closed by releasable door means typically a pivoting cover for hermetic sealing. The cassette reservoir interior space is filled with an adequate quantity of a pressurized ultra-pure neutral gas. This gas is supplied by a compressed gas supply installation through gas injection valve means, including a high efficiency filter and a non-return valve. The pressure which prevails in the cassette reservoir interior space has a positive differential pressure (about 5000 Pa) with respect to the outside ambient to prevent any contamination thereof. The cassette reservoir is preferably made of a transparent and non-contaminating material such as a plastic. It is provided with a bar code tag so that identification data attached to the wafer can be directly and automatically read by an appropriate reader. The cassette reservoir includes a drilled inner wall provided with holes that demarcates two regions within said container interior space: a first region in relationship with said gas injection valve means to form the reservoir properly said and a second region or receptacle adapted to receive a wafer holder. The cassette reservoir includes means for firmly and accurately maintaining the holder therein. The holder has a slot-shaped transfer opening enclosing a single wafer and is adapted to be inserted in and removed from and from the said receptacle through the said access opening at the beginning and at the end of the wafer processing step sequence. The holder is provided on its rear face with via-holes that are designed so that the gas flowing from the reservoir into the holder interior space, first through said holes, next through said via-holes, does not so easily penetrate in the holder interior space. The holder is preferably made of a transparent and non-contaminating material such as a plastic or pure SiO2 (quartz). The holder includes means for softly but firmly maintaining the wafer therein.
Ce nouveau conteneur portatif pressurisé et capable d'être scellé comprend un réservoir-cassette en forme de boîte muni d'une ouverture en forme de fente normalement fermée hermétiquement par une porte refermable, typiquement un couvercle pivotant permettant une fermeture hermétique. L'espace intérieur du réservoir-cassette contient une quantité suffisante d'un gaz neutre ultra-pur. Ce gaz est fourni par un dispositif d'alimentation de gaz comprimé par le biais d'un clapet d'injection, comprenant un filtre à efficacité élevée et un clapet de non-retour. La pression exercée dans l'espace intérieur du réservoir-cassette a une pression différentielle positive (environ 5000 Pa) par rapport à la pression externe ambiante de façon à prévenir toute contamination. De préférence, le réservoir-cassette est fabriqué d'un matériau transparent et non contaminant tel que le plastique. Il comporte une étiquette où figure un code à barres de sorte que les données d'identification jointes à la plaquette puissent être lues directement par un lecteur approprié. Le réservoir-cassette comprend un mur interne percé de trous qui délimite deux régions dans ledit espace intérieur du conteneur : une première région en relation avec le clapet d'injection de gaz pour former un réservoir proprement dit, et une seconde région ou réceptacle adapté pour accueillir un support de plaquette. Le réservoir-cassette comprend un dispositif permettant d'y maintenir le support fermement et avec précision. Le support a une ouverture de transfert en forme de fente abritant une plaquette unique et est adaptée de façon à pouvoir être insérée dans ledit réceptacle et retirée de ce dernier par l'ouverture d'accès au début et à la fin de la séquence de traitement par étapes de la plaquette. Le support comporte, sur sa face extérieure, des trous d'interconnexion conçus de façon à ce que le gaz qui coule du réservoir vers l'espace intérieur du support d'abord par lesdits trous, puis par lesdits trous d'interconnexion ne pénètre pas facilement dans l'espace intérieur du support. Le support est préférablement fait d'un matériel transparent et non contaminant tel que le plastique ou du SiO2 pur (quartz). Le support comprend un dispositif permettant d'y maintenir la plaquette doucement mais fermement.
