Techniques for enhancing the sound quality of computer telephony systems are provided. In general, digital signals including telephony sounds are converted from the time domain to the frequency domain. If noise is detected in the frequency domain conversion of the digital signals, the noise is removed utilizing a filter. The noise detection and filtering can be performed in software so that enhanced audio quality can be achieved at a relatively low cost and with flexibility for very diverse environments

L'invention concerne des techniques pour améliorer la qualité du son dans des systèmes de téléphonie par ordinateur. D'une manière générale, les signaux numériques comprenant des sons téléphoniques sont convertis du domaine temps au domaine fréquence. Si l'on détecte du bruit lors de la conversion des signaux numériques au domaine fréquence, le bruit est enlevé au moyen d'un filtre. La détection du bruit et le filtrage peuvent se faire au moyen d'un logiciel de manière à obtenir une qualité audio améliorée à un coût relativement réduit et avec une flexibilité relativement élevée pour des environnements assez variés.
