Polymorphs of N-methyl-N-(3-{3-[2-thienylcar- bonyl]-pyrazol-[1,5-.alpha.]-pyrimidin-7-yl}phenyl)acetamide (Compound (1)), and use of the same as a sedative-hypnotic, anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, and skeletal muscle relaxant agent. L'invention concerne des polymorphes de N-méthyle-N-(3-{3-[2-tiénylcarbonyle]-pyrazole-[1,5-alpha]-pyrimidine-7-yl}phényle)acétamide (composé 1), et l'utilisation de ce composé comme sédatif-hypnotique, anxiolytique, anticonvulsivant, et décontractant de muscle du squelette. L'invention concerne en outre des procédés relatifs à l'élaboration de ce composé, ainsi que des compositions et des procédés connexes, utiles en particulier pour le traitement de l'insomnie. L'invention concerne par ailleurs un polymorphe de forme I possédant une exceptionnelle stabilité physique et thermique, ainsi qu'un polymorphe de forme II.
