An adjustable height sus-pension system for a vehicle is disclosed. A pivot arm has a first end pivotably connect-ed to the vehicle frame about a pivot axis. A shock absorber assembly is connected to the frame at a first connection point and connected to the pivot arm at a second con-nection point. An air spring is connected to the frame at a third connection point and connected to the pivot arm at a fourth con-nection point. The fourth connection point is closer to the pivot axis than the second connection point. The air spring has at least one inlet and at least one outlet pro-vided by at least one opening. A valve se-lectively communicates the interior of the air spring to the atmosphere via the outlet. An adjustable height suspension system having first and second pivot arms and first and second air springs is also described.
L'invention porte sur un système de suspension à hauteur réglable pour un véhicule. Un bras de pivot comporte une première extrémité reliée de façon pivotante au châssis de véhicule autour d'un axe de pivot. Un ensemble absorbeur de choc est relié au châssis en un premier point de liaison et est relié au bras de pivot en un deuxième point de liaison. Un ressort à air est relié au châssis en un troisième point de liaison et est relié au bras de pivot en un quatrième point de liaison. Le quatrième point de liaison est plus proche de l'axe de pivot que le deuxième point de liaison. Le ressort à air comprend au moins un orifice d'entrée et au moins un orifice de sortie constitué par au moins une ouverture. Une vanne fait communiquer de façon sélective l'intérieur du ressort à air avec l'atmosphère par l'intermédiaire de l'orifice de sortie.
