The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for selection of a radio carrier from a number of available radio carriers (12-14) in radio transmission systems. The respective best radio carrier is selected in a mobile unit (10) as a function of the location of the mobile unit (10), with the selection being made on the basis of information currently determined by and already available in the mobile unit (10), relating to the quality of the available radio carriers (12-14).

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif de sélection d'une porteuse radioélectrique parmi une pluralité de porteuses (12-14) radioélectriques disponibles sur des systèmes de transmission radioélectrique. Une sélection de la meilleure porteuse radioélectrique respective s'effectue au niveau d'une unité (10) mobile en fonction du lieu de séjour de l'unité (10) mobile. Selon l'invention, la sélection est effectuée au moyen des informations actuelles déterminées par l'unité (10) mobile et déjà existantes sur la qualité des porteuses (12-14) radioélectriques disponibles.
