The present invention provides an ap-paratus (10), as shown in the figur, that lifts, secures, splits and/or crushes tree stumps or other materials, particularly wooden materi-als and other materials that may be present at an excavation site. The apparatus is characterized in part by a two pivot point design. A first pivot point (14) allows for the pivotable operation of an engaging unit (12) which grabs and lifts the tree stump. The engaging unit further acts as a durable and secure support member for the tree stump during the splitting and crushing process. The second pivot point (14') allows for pivotable operation of a cutting device which facili-tates splitting and crushing of the stumps.
L'invention concerne un appareil (10) tel que représenté sur la figure, lequel soulève, maintient fixement, fend et/ou fragmente les souches d'arbres ou d'autres matériaux, notamment des matériaux en bois et d'autres matériaux pouvant être présents sur le site d'excavation. Cet appareil est caractérisé en partie par une conception à deux points de pivot. Un premier point de pivot (14) permet de faire pivoter une unité (12) de prise qui saisit et soulève la souche. Cette unité de prise sert également en tant qu'élément supportant de manière durable et ferme la souche lors du processus de fendage et de fragmentation. Le second point de pivot (14') permet de faire pivoter un dispositif de coupe, ce qui facilite le fendage et la fragmentation des souches.
