It is well known that the traditional hot laying out of asphalt suffers from some disadvantages, and it has been endeavoured to replace it by a cold technique based on a mixture of stones and a bituminous binder emulsion adapted as to be actuated as a binder ("break") once the material has been laid out. Also this requires a high degree of planning in the asphalt plants as well as a high production capacity; besides, the cold techniques have been restricted with respect to a desirable high viscosity of the bituminous binder. The invention provides for a method, by which two separately prepared material fractions can be produced to stock and to depots and at any time be taken out and simply mixed preparatory to the laying out, such that the respective binder emulsions acting as breaking agents for each other. It is possible to use very high viscid bitumen in both emulsions. The invention also comprises the manufacture and distribution of the products in two parts as the factory aspect of the method.
Compte tenu des inconvénients propres à l'application classique à chaud du bitume, on s'est efforcé de remplacer cette méthode par une technique à froid qui consiste à appliquer un mélange de pierres et d'émulsion de liant bitumineux tenant lieu de liant ("rupture") une fois le matériau posé. Cela requiert un degré de planification et une capacité de production élevée dans les usines de bitume et par ailleurs, l'utilisation de la technique à froid est limitée en ce qui concerne la haute viscosité souhaitable pour le liant bitumineux. L'invention se rapporte à un procédé qui consiste à utiliser deux groupes de matériaux dont la préparation est distincte et que l'on peut stocker afin de prélever à tout moment la partie nécessaire aux applications. Il suffit de mélanger ces fractions avant l'application, de sorte que les émulsions de liant respectives agissent comme agents de rupture l'une par rapport à l'autre. Il est possible d'utiliser du bitume à haute viscosité dans les deux émulsions. On décrit également la fabrication et la distribution des produits en deux groupes séparés en tant qu'aspects concernant les usines.
