2037922 9101264 PCTABS00003 A hoisting device (2) is secured to one side of a vehicle (1) by means of a hoisting arm (21) and to the other side by a pair of pivoting grips (4, 5). The pivoting grips are bent through approximately 90· and extend beneath the vehicle and have tangential branches which extend along the vehicle (1) above its centre of gravity. The hoisting device (2) is portable and connected by a connecting rod (31, 31A) to one of the pivoting grips (4). When the side of the vehicle is raised, the vehicle pivots through approximately 90·, so that it base becomes accessible. The device can be adapted to different vehicle widths, wheel stands and vehicle types.
