It is found out that a minus-strand RNA virus has an efficient tumor- suppressive effect even in the case of carrying no gene having a therapeutic effect. Thus, it is intended to provide an anticancer agent containing the minus-strand RNA virus; a process for producing an anticancer agent which comprises the step of mixing the minus-strand RNA virus with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier; and a method of suppressing cancer which comprises the step of administering the minus-strand RNA virus to a cancerous tissue.
