ABSTRACT The apparatus comprises an optical reflecting sensor an operational amplifier buffer with the electrical input connected to the output of the optical sensor, means for averaging and delating a signal picked up at the output of the sensor, means for the differential amplification of the signals on output respectively from the buffer and the means, and means for comparing the signal outputting from the means with a known predetermined signal.
