A pavement marking composition comprises a sulfopoly(ester-urethane) polymer which comprises in its backbone at least one non-terminal arylene or alkylene group comprising a pendant sulfonic acid group or salt thereof, the polymer of said pavement marking composition being terminated by at least one hydrolysable silyl group. A method of making the composition is disclosed. The pavement marking composition can further comprise at least one of pigments, optical elements, fillers, or other adjuvants. Particularly desirable adjuvants include optical elements, particularly retroreflective elements, skid-resistant particles, and pigments.
Composition pour le marquage de la chaussée comprenant un polymère de sulfopolyester-uréthane, dont le squelette comporte au moins un groupe arylène ou alkylène non terminal incluant un groupe pendant d'acide sulfonique ou de son sel, le polymère de ladite composition de marquage étant terminé par au moins un groupe silyle hydrolysable. L'invention concerne également un procédé de préparation de ladite composition. Cette dernière peut comprendre, de plus, au moins une des substances suivantes: pigments, éléments optiques, charges ou autres adjuvants. Parmi les adjuvants particulièrement souhaitables se trouvent des éléments optiques, particulièrement, des éléments réfléchissants, des particules antidérapantes et des pigments.
