Flexible, Drapeable Towpreg Containing Fused Thermosettable Particles Having High Glass Transition Temperatures ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Flexible and drapeable thermosetting resin-impregnated towpregs are prepared by impregnating spread reinforcing fiber tows with an aqueous dispersion of solid thermosetting resin particles reforming the tow, removing water and fusing the resin particles to the tow in a heated zone, and bending the tow sharply to render it flexible and drapeable. Such tows may be used in filament winding, braiding, and weaving operations in the preparation of structural composites.
