A chair with backward and forward passive tilt capabilities including a seat assembly, a back assembly, a frame assembly, a wheeled base, a pedestal and a tilt mechanism. The tilt mechanism includes first, second and third links, first, second, third and fourth pivot pins, brackets and a resilient deformable block. The first link connects the back assembly with the frame assembly by way of the first pivot pin and the seat assembly by way of the second pivot pin. The second link connects to the frame assembly with the third pivot pin and to the third link with the fourth pivot pin. When a chair occupant shifts his/her weight rearwardly to tilt the back assembly, the seat assembly lifts and the block is deformed and stressed. When the chair occupant leans forwardly, the seat assembly lowers and the back assembly tilts forwardly. Again, the block deforms. Once the occupant sits upright or leaves the chair, the deformed block induces a return force to place the chair in a neutral upright position.
L'invention concerne un fauteuil à capacités d'inclinaison avant et arrière passives comprenant un ensemble siège, un ensemble dossier, un ensemble châssis, une base à roues, un pied et un mécanisme d'inclinaison. Ledit mécanisme d'inclinaison comprend une première, une deuxième et une troisième liaison, un premier, un deuxième, un troisième et un quatrième axe d'articulation, des supports et un bloc élastique déformable. La première liaison connecte l'ensemble dossier et l'ensemble châssis à l'aide du premier axe d'articulation et l'ensemble siège à l'aide du deuxième axe d'articulation. La deuxième liaison connecte l'ensemble châssis à l'aide du troisième axe d'articulation et la troisième liaison avec le quatrième axe d'articulation. Lorsque l'occupant d'un fauteuil décale son poids vers l'arrière pour incliner l'ensemble dossier, l'ensemble siège se soulève et le bloc est déformé et contraint. Lorsque l'occupant du fauteuil se penche vers l'avant, l'ensemble siège s'abaisse et l'ensemble dossier s'incline vers l'avant. Le bloc se déforme à nouveau. Une fois que l'occupant est assis verticalement ou quitte le fauteuil, le bloc déformé induit une force de retour permettant de placer le fauteuil dans une position verticale neutre.
