The present invention provides a prognostic marker in human cancer, HP1.alpha., a high expression thereof being associated with a poor prognosis. The present invention further provides a method for diagnosing a cancer in a subject, HP1.alpha. being specifically overexpressed in tumoral cells. The present invention also provides a method for selecting a subject affected with a cancer for an adjuvant therapy and a method for monitoring the response of a subject affected with a cancer to a treatment.
Cette invention concerne un marqueur de pronostic du cancer chez l'homme, à savoir la protéine HP1a, une expression élevée de celle-ci étant associée avec un mauvais pronostic. L'invention concerne par ailleurs une méthode de diagnostic du cancer chez un sujet, la protéine HP1a se trouvant particulièrement surexprimée dans les cellules tumorales. L'invention concerne également une méthode de sélection d'un sujet atteint d'un cancer pour un traitement adjuvant, et une méthode de surveillance de la réponse dudit sujet au traitement.
