An apparatus which measures the body weight of an individual, comprising a platform (18) for supporting the individual to be weighed; a plurality of sensors (29) disposed within the platform for sensing a force exerted on the platform (18) indicative of the weight of the individual and generating an analog signal proportional to the sensed force; electronic means (50) for combining the analog signals from the plurality of sensors to form a combined electronic signal indicative of the weight of the individual; a processor (80) for generating a digital signal (72) based on the electronic signal for driving an electromechanical actuator (30) for displaying the measured body weight on a display device, the display device comprising a graduated dial having at least one concentrically arranged scale and a rotatable pointer (34A, 34B), the pointer driven in rotation by the actuator (80) according to the processor to a position on the gratuated dial which corresponds to the measured body weight of the individual.

L'invention concerne un appareil de pesée d'une personne, doté d'une plate-forme (18) destinée à porter la personne désirant se peser, de plusieurs capteurs (29) placés à l'intérieur de cette plate-forme aux fins de détection de la force exercée sur la plate-forme et produisant un signal analogique proportionnel à la force détectée, de moyens électroniques (50) destinés à combiner les signaux analogiques provenant du groupe de capteurs et à former un signal électronique combiné indiquant le poids de la personne, ainsi que d'un processeur (80) servant à produire un signal numérique (72) d'après le signal électronique, aux fins d'entraînement d'un actionneur électromécanique (30) destiné à afficher le poids mesuré sur le dispositif d'affichage, lequel comprend un cadran gradué pourvu d'une ou plusieurs graduations, agencées de manière concentrique, et d'un pointeur rotatif (34A, 34B). La rotation du pointeur est commandée par l'actionneur (80) en fonction du processeur, de manière que le pointeur se positionne sur le cadran gradué à l'endroit correspondant au poids du corps de la personne se pesant.
