The invention provides a splash guard for catching the spattering of hot grease from a skillet or the like during cooking of food, comprising a plurality of sheet sections and connection means arranged on the sections. The sections are sequentially interconnected to obtain a dome-like shielding enclosure surrounding a cooking vessel, leaving a side opening for the handle of the skillet and a top outlet for egress of smoke and steam. The connection means are arranged on the lateral margins of the sections for attaching two adjacent sections to each other allowing for ready separation of the sections for deposit and cleaning. A section is defined by a support margin curved at a first radius, a right and a left lateral margins, inwardly inclined, and a top margin curved at a second radius less than the first radius. The dimensions of the margins are selected such that the section can stand by itself on the support margin. In a preferred embodiment the shield comprises a right and a left end section and at least one intermediary section. The connection means comprises a complementary hook-hole arrangement provided on the lateral margins of each section.
