By this invention, novel nucleic acid sequences encoding for phosphatidic acid phosphatase (PAP) proteins are provided, wherein said PAP protein is active in the formation of diacylglycerol from phosphatidic acid. Also considered are amino acid and nucleic acid sequences obtainable from PAP nucleic acid sequences and the use of such sequences to provide transgenic host cells capable of producing altered lipid compositions and total lipid levels.
La présente invention concerne de nouvelles séquences d'acide nucléique codant des protéines de phosphatase acide phosphatidique (PAP), ces protéines de PAP étant actives dans la formation de diacylglycérol à partir d'acide phosphatidique. L'invention concerne également des séquences d'acides aminés et d'acide nucléique et l'utilisation de ces séquences pour obtenir des cellules hôtes transgéniques capables de produire des compositions lipidiques modifiées et des taux de lipides totaux.
