In a convergence error detecting apparatus for use in combination with a display system of a projection type which displays, onto a display panel, a projected image signal which has a first synchronization signal of a predetermined frequency, and for detecting a convergence error signal representative of a convergence error appearing on the projected image signal, image pickup device is operated by a second synchronization signal of a frequency different from the predetermined frequency, for picking up the projected image signal to produce a pickup image signal by the use of the second synchronization signal, and processing unit processes the pickup image signal to detect the convergence error and to produce a convergence error signal representative of the convergence error. The convergence error signal is supplied to the display system to remove the convergence error in the display system.
Appareil de détection d'erreurs de convergence utilisable en association avec un afficheur à projection, sur un tableau de visualisation, d'un signal d'image projetée comportant un premier signal de synchronisation d'une fréquence prédéterminée. Cet appareil sert aussi à détecter un signal d'erreur de convergence correspondant à une erreur de convergence présente dans le signal d'image projetée. Un dispositif analyseur est commandé par un second signal de synchronisation d'une fréquence différente de la fréquence prédéterminée, et sert à analyser le signal d'image projetée afin de produire un signal d'image d'analyse au moyen d'un second signal de synchronisation. Une unité de traitement traite le signal d'image d'analyse en vue de détecter l'erreur de convergence et de produire un signal d'erreur de convergence qui soit représentatif de cette erreur. Le signal d'erreur de convergence est transmis au système d'affichage afin d'éliminer l'erreur dans ce système.
