-23- ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of processing a mixture of liquid and solid material comprises the steps of subjecting the mixture to a first screening to screen at least a portion of the solid material from the liquid subjecting the thus-screened liquid to a second screening to screen further solid material from the liquid collecting and aerating the liquidscreened by the first and second screenings and subjecting the thus-aerated liquid to a third screening to remove further solids from the liquid.
