The invention concerns a core barrel (1, 4) equipped with a flexible membrane (2) on its internal surface, means (10) for driving the core barrel into the soil (11), means for disintegrating the soil coming out from the core barrel top orifice, means for applying axial forces on the membrane (2) and on the top surface of the sample (12) of soil contained in the core barrel, and means for measuring stresses and deformations sustained by the sample (12). During the measurement process the core barrel is immobilised in the soil (11).

Le dispositif comporte un carottier (1, 4) équipé d'une membrane (2) souple sur sa face interne, des moyens (10) pour enfoncer le carottier dans le sol (11), des moyens pour désagréger le sol qui sort par l'orifice supérieur du carottier, des moyens pour appliquer des forces axiales sur la membrane (2) et sur la face supérieure de l'échantillon (12) de sol contenu dans le carottier, et des moyens de mesure des contraintes et des déformations subies par l'échantillon (12). Au cours de la mesure, le carottier est immobilisé dans le sol (11).
