The invention describes novel nitrosated proton pump inhibitor compounds and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, and novel compositions comprising at least one nitrosated proton pump inhibitor compound, and, optionally, at least one compound that donates, transfers or releases nitric oxide, stimulates endogenous synthesis of nitric oxide, elevates endogenous levels of endothelium-derived relaxing factor or is a substrate for nitric oxide synthase, and/or at least one therapeutic agent. The invention also provides novel compositions comprising at least one nitrosated proton pump inhibitor compound, and at least one compound that donates, transfers or releases nitric oxide, elevates endogenous levels of endothelium-derived relaxing factor, stimulates endogenous synthesis of nitric oxide or is a substrate for nitric oxide synthase and/or at least one therapeutic agent. The invention also provides novel kits comprising at least one nitrosated proton pump inhibitor compound, and, optionally, at least one nitric oxide donor and/or at least one therapeutic agent. The invention also provides methods for treating gastrointestinal disorders; facilitating ulcer healing; decreasing the recurrence of ulcers; improving gastroprotective properties, anti-Helicobacter pylori properties or antacid properties of proton pump inhibitors; decreasing or reducing the gastrointestinal toxicity associated with the use of nonsteroidal antiinflammatory compounds; treating bacterial infections and/or viral infections.

L'invention concerne des nouveaux composés inhibiteurs nitrosés de la pompe à protons et des sels acceptables sur le plan pharmaceutique de ceux-ci, ainsi que des nouvelles compositions renfermant au moins un composé inhibiteur nitrosé de la pompe à protons, et, éventuellement, au moins un composé donnant, transférant ou libérant de l'oxyde nitrique, stimulant une synthèse endogène de l'oxyde nitrique, élevant des niveaux endogènes du facteur relaxant d'origine endothéliale ou étant un substrat destiné à la synthase de l'oxyde nitrique et/ou au moins un agent thérapeutique. L'invention concerne également des nouvelles compositions renfermant au moins un composé inhibiteur nitrosé de la pompe à protons et au moins un composé donnant, transférant ou libérant de l'oxyde nitrique, élevant des niveaux endogènes du facteur relaxant d'origine endothéliale, stimulant une synthèse endogène de l'oxyde nitrique ou étant un substrat destiné à la synthase de l'oxyde nitrique et/ou au moins un agent thérapeutique. L'invention concerne en outre des nouveaux kits renfermant au moins un composé inhibiteur nitrosé de la pompe à protons et, éventuellement, au moins un donneur d'oxyde nitrique et/ou au moins un agent thérapeutique. L'invention concerne enfin des méthodes de traitement de troubles gastro-intestinaux facilitant la guérison d'ulcères; réduisant la récurrence d'ulcères; améliorant des propriétés gastro-protectrices, des propriétés anti-<i>Helicobacter pylori</i> ou des propriétés antiacides d'inhibiteurs de la pompe à protons; diminuant ou réduisant la toxicité gastro-intestinale associée à l'utilisation de composés anti-inflammatoires non stéroïdaux; et traitant des infections bactériennes et/ou virales.
