ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A recombinant vector suitable for industrially making an animal produce useful protein in its milk, which is con- constructed by extracting high molecular weight DNA from the bovine liver to prepare a chromosomal gene library, prepar- ing a synthetic DNA probe corresponding to the publicly known bovine .alpha.S1 casein chromosomal gene, screening a clone carrying bovine .alpha.S1 casein gene, confirming that the clone has a base sequence coincident with that of the publicly known bovine .alpha.S1 casein chromosomal gene, ligating human prourokinase cDNA with the promoter part and the intron 1 part of the gene, and then inserting the obtained plasmid into a suitable vector. A transgenic mouse prepared by using this recombinant vector secrete a considerable amount of human prourokinase as useful protein in its milk after delivery.
