ABREGE L'invention concerne l'utilisation de la lactoferrine pour préserver les propriétés mécaniques des cheveux, et notamment leur résistance à la traction et leur élasticité, de la dégradation par les agressions atmosphériques, et en particulier par la lumière. La lactoferrine est utilisée à cet effet en une quantité comprise entre 0,05 et 5% en poids dans un support cosmétiquement acceptable, et de préférence sous forme d'une association de la lactoferrine, 8-hydroxyxanthine et de la 2-thioxanthine, comprenant de 0,2 à 2% en poids de lactoferrine, 0,01 à 0,1% en poids de 8-hydroxyxanthine et 0,01 à 0,3% en poids de 2-thioxanthine, et éventuellement 0,01 à 5% en poids d'une enzyme superoxyde dismutase.
