The present invention relates to a catalyst used in the low-temperature pyrolysis of hydrocarbon-containing polymer materials, said catalyst being mainly intended for use in the recycling of rubber waste materials. The catalyst is prepared from a carbon-iron component in the form of microscopic carbon particles and ultra-dispersed iron particles. In order to increase the yield of light hydrocarbon fractions in the condensate and to bind substantially completely the sulphur in the products of the rubber pyrolysis, the catalyst further contains a metal-carbon component. This component consists of the product from the stripping and the pyrolysis of a dispersion that comprises at least one salt of a metal from the group VIII in the periodic table which is capable of decay upon heating in order to form an oxide, wherein said metal is selected from the group comprising iron, nickel and cobalt. The dispersion further includes a carbohydrate as well as a highly volatile solvent.

Cette invention concerne un catalyseur qui est utilisé lors de la pyrolyse à basse température de matériaux polymères contenant des hydrocarbures, et qui est notamment destiné au recyclage de déchets caoutchouteux. Ce catalyseur est préparé à partir d'un composant à base de carbone et de fer qui se présente sous forme de particules microscopiques de carbone et de particules ultra-dispersées de fer. Afin d'accroître la production de fractions légères d'hydrocarbures dans le condensât et de lier pratiquement complètement le soufre dans les produits de la pyrolyse du caoutchouc, le catalyseur comprend également un composant à base de métal et de carbone. Ce composant consiste en un produit issu de la rectification et de la pyrolyse d'une dispersion qui comprend au moins un sel d'un métal du groupe VIII de la classification périodique capable de se décomposer lors d'un chauffage de manière à former un oxyde, le métal étant choisi dans le groupe comprenant du fer, du nickel et du cobalt. Cette dispersion comprend en outre un hydrate de carbone ainsi qu'un solvant hautement volatil.
