The present invention relates to an improved method of manufacturing a disposable cervical cap by injection molding and cervical caps produced thereby. The method includes providing an injection point at a top portion location of a heated mold cavity and injecting an elastomeric molding material into the heated mold cavity at the injection point. The material flows downwardly throughout the mold cavity, producing a molded cap (10) having a substantially thickened annular rim (18) and a form-assuming dome (12) with a generally thickened top portion (20) having an interior and exterior surface and a substantially thin middle portion (22).
La présente invention concerne un procédé amélioré de production d'une cape cervicale jetable par moulage par injection, et des capes cervicales ainsi produites. Ce procédé consiste à déterminer un point d'injection sur un emplacement de la partie supérieure d'une cavité de moulage chauffée et à injecter dans cette cavité de moulage chauffée, à ce point d'injection, une matière de moulage élastomère. La matière s'écoule dans la cavité de moulage vers le bas, produisant une cape moulée (10) comportant un rebord annulaire (18) sensiblement plus épais et un dôme (12) épousant la forme et comportant une partie supérieure (20) généralement plus épaisse avec des surfaces intérieure et extérieure, et une partie centrale (22) sensiblement mince.
