A cannula for transferring fluid relative to a vial or intravenous port having an elastomeric membrane includes: a cannula body having first and second opposite ends; the first end terminating in a tip for penetrating the elastomeric membrane; the body having a passage opening through the second end and extending within the cannula body towards the first end, the passage opening through at least one horizontal-oriented port through a side surface of the cannula body thereby to enable flow of fluid along the passage and between the opening through the second end and the side port. . An axial width of the port is smaller than a thickness dimension of a vial through which the cannula tip is to be inserted. A related method is also described.
L'invention concerne une canule permettant de transférer un fluide vers un flacon ou vers un orifice d'intraveineuse à membrane élastomère. Ladite canule comprend un corps de canule ayant une première et une deuxième extrémité ; la première extrémité se termine par une pointe destinée à être introduite dans la membrane élastomère ; le corps possède une ouverture formant un passage dans la deuxième extrémité et s'étendant à l'intérieur du corps de la canule vers la première extrémité, le passage s'ouvrant dans au moins un orifice orienté horizontalement par une surface latérale du corps de la canule, de manière à permettre l'écoulement de fluide le long du passage et entre l'ouverture dans la deuxième extrémité et dans l'orifice latéral. Une largeur axiale de l'orifice est plus petite qu'une dimension d'épaisseur d'un flacon dans lequel on introduit la pointe de la canule. L'invention concerne également un procédé afférent.
