ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improvement in a level indicator gauge having a shaft which extends substantially horizontally through a side wall of a tank. The improvement consists of a generally tubular housing extending substantially horizontally through a peripheral side wall of a tank. The tubular housing has an interior end which extends into the interior cavity of the tank, and an exterior end positioned exterior of the tank. The shaft extends through tubular housing. Seals are disposed at each end of the tubular housing. Bearings are disposed adjacent each end of the tubular housing whereby the shaft is journalled for rotation. A grease nipple is provided for filling the tubular housing with lubricant such that the lubricant resists the entry of liquids into the tubular housing and prolongs seal life by exerting a force from within the tubular housing upon the seals which counters a force exerted on the sealing means by liquids within the tank.
