Launch pack (5) for accelerating projectiles (4) to hypervelocities in an electromagnetic accelerator (1), comprising a casing (7) in which at least one electric sliding contact (6) is arranged, which sliding contact (6) is formed by multiple fibres of an electrically conducting material onto which an electrically insulating material has been applied, the fibres running from the top to the bottom of the casing (7), wherein the length of the fibres is essentially greater than the height of the casing (7) to such an extent that a feed mechanism is provided to compensate for wearing away of the ends of the fibres.
Cette invention concerne un dispositif de lancement (5) conçu pour accélérer des projectiles (4) jusqu'à des vitesses ultrahypersoniques dans un accélérateur électromagnétique (1). Ce dispositif de lancement comporte un carter (7) pourvu d'au moins un contact glissant électrique (6) constitué de multiples fibres constituées d'une matière électriquement conductrice sur laquelle on a appliqué une matière électriquement isolante, lesdites fibres étant disposées de la partie supérieure à la partie inférieure du carter (7) et la longueur des fibres étant sensiblement supérieure à la hauteur du carter (7), de telle sorte que l'on dispose d'un mécanisme d'avancement des fibres conçu pour compenser l'usure de leurs extrémités.
