A dental instrument (10) is configured to be positioned adjacent the teeth and gums of a patient without injuring or causing pain to sensitive teeth or gums. The dental instrument (10) includes: i) a main body (12) having a proximal end (20) and a distal end (18), the main body (12) being configured to be grasped by a practitioner; ii) an elastomeric member (17) coupled to the distal end (18) of the main body (12) such that abutment of the elastomeric member (17) against the teeth or gums of a patient does not injure or cause pain to the teeth or gums; and iii) a plurality of fibers disposed on the elastomeric member (17). The fibers can be used to remove air bubbles from impression material, or for a variety of other uses. The instrument (10) may be in the form of an applicator or delivery tip, for example. The instrument (10) can have a non-slip gripping surface.
L'invention concerne un instrument dentaire (10) conçu pour être positionné de manière adjacente aux dents et aux gencives d'un patient sans provoquer de blessures ou de douleurs sur les dents ou les gencives sensibles. Ledit instrument dentaire (10) est composé (I) d'un corps principal (12) présentant une extrémité proximale (20) et une extrémité distale (18), ledit corps principal (12) étant conçu pour être saisi par un spécialiste ; (II) d'un élément élastomère (17) couplé à l'extrémité distale (18) du corps principal (12) de manière que l'appui de l'élément élastomère (17) contre les dents ou les gencives du patient ne provoque pas de blessures ou de douleurs sur les dents ou les gencives ; et (III), d'une pluralité de fibres disposées sur l'élément élastomère (17). Les fibres peuvent servir à retirer des bulles d'air de matériaux d'empreintes ou à diverses autres fins. L'instrument (10) peut par exemple se présenter sous la forme d'un applicateur ou d'une pointe d'administration, et présenter une surface de préhension antidérapante.
