The invention relates to a coating composition containing A) 50 to 90% by weight of one or more hydroxyl-containing addition polymers, prepared by copolymerization of ethylenically unsaturated monomers which are in part hydroxy-alkyl esters of .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acids and B) 10 to 50% by weight of one or more amino resin cross-linking agents, the sum of the proportions by weight of A and B being 100% by weight, and suitable auxiliaries and additives, optionally pigments, optionally fillers, organic solvent and an acid catalyst. The coating composition is one wherein the acid catalyst used comprises 1) sulfo- or sulfonio-succinic esters which each contain at least one hydroxyl group and/or 2) sulfo- or sulfonio-succinic polyesters which each contain at least one hydroxyl group. The invention furthermore relates to a process for the preparation of the coating compositions according to the invention and to their use as an automobile repair finish or as a stoving paint.
L'invention porte sur une composition de revêtement renfermant : A) 50 à 90 % en poids d'un ou de plusieurs polymères d'addition hydroxylés, préparés par copolymérisation de monomères avec des insaturations éthyléniques, qui sont en partie des esters hydroxyalkyliques d'acides carboxyliques avec insaturations alpha,bêta-éthyléniques; B) 10 à 50 % en poids d'un ou de plusieurs agents de réticulation de résines aminiques - la somme de A et B étant égale à 100 % en poids -, ainsi que des agents auxiliaires et des additifs appropriés, avec facultativement des pigments et des charges, enfin un solvant organique et un catalyseur acide. Le catalyseur acide utilisé dans la composition de revêtement renferme : 1) des esters sulfo- ou sulfoniosucciniques, contenant chacun au moins un hydroxyle; et (ou) 2) des polyesters sulfo- ou sulfoniosucciniques, contenant chacun au moins un hydroxyle. Enfin, l'invention présente une méthode pour préparer la composition de revêtement selon l'invention et son emploi comme fini pour la réparation d'automobiles et comme peinture au four.
