A child-resistant package includes a plastic container (26) having a blow- molded neck finish (24) with an end, at least one external thread (28), an arcuate part-circumferential ledge (30) adjacent to the neck finish and a plurality of angularly spaced ratchet teeth (32a, 32b, 32c, 32d, 32e, 32f and 32g on the ledge. A closure has at least one skirt (48, 50), at least one internal thread (52) on the skirt, at least one flexible resilient ratchet finger (54, 56) extending radially inwardly from the skirt at an angle to the skirt, and a seal element (68) within the skirt for sealing engagement with the end of the container neck finish. Threading of the closure onto the container neck finish brings the ratchet finger into engagement with the ratchet teeth. The array of ratchet teeth and the seal element are such as to accommodate tolerance variations in the blow-molded neck finish while maintaining a seal and child-resistance capability at the neck finish, hi an exemplary embodiment of the disclosure, there are a pair of angularly spaced ratchet fingers on the skirt, with the array of ratchet teeth, the seal element and the angular spacing between the ratchet fingers accommodating tolerance variations in the blow-molded neck finish. The closure preferably is a dual-wall closure having an internal skirt with the internal thread and an external skirt with the ratchet fingers.
La présente invention a trait à un emballage à l'épreuve des enfants comportant un récipient en matière plastique (26) avec bague moulée par soufflage (24), avec une extrémité, au moins un filetage mâle (28), un rebord en forme d'arc en partie périphérique (30) adjacent à la bague et une pluralité de dents triangulaires à espacement angulaire (32a, 32b, 32c, 32d, 32e, 32f et 32g) sur le rebord. Une fermeture présente au moins une jupe (48, 50), au moins un filetage femelle (52) sur la jupe, au moins un doigt triangulaire élastique flexible (54, 56) s'étendant radialement vers l'intérieur à partir de la jupe incliné par rapport à la jupe, et un élément d'étanchéité (68) à l'intérieur de la jupe pour un engagement étanche avec l'extrémité de la bague du récipient. Le filetage de la fermeture sur la bague du récipient sollicite le doigt triangulaire en engagement avec les dents triangulaires. Le réseau de dents triangulaires et l'élément d'étanchéité sont prévus pour permettre des variations de tolérance dans la bague moulée par soufflage tout en préservant le caractère d'étanchéité et de protection enfant de la bague. Dans un mode de réalisation représentatif de l'invention, il est prévu une paire de doigts triangulaires à espacement angulaire sur la jupe, avec un réseau de dents triangulaires, l'élément d'étanchéité et l'espacement angulaire entre les doigts triangulaires permettant des variations de tolérance dans la bague moulée par soufflage. La fermeture est de préférence une fermeture à double paroi présentant une jupe interne avec un filetage femelle et une jupe externe avec les doigts triangulaires.
