Injectable drug laden microspheres are obtained from unsaturated functionalized polyhydric alcohol ester of polyester by a method comprising dissolving the unsaturated functionalized ester in a hydrophobic organic solvent, dissolving drug and/or biologically active agent in water, admixing the two solutions to form water-in-oil emulsion, forming an aqueous solution of stabilizer, admixing the water-in-oil emulsion and the stabilizer solution to form water-in-oil-in-water emulsion, and evaporating the organic solvent.

Microsphères chargées en médicaments injectables obtenues à partir d'ester d'alcool polyhydrique fonctionnalisé non saturé de polyester par une méthode comprenant la dissolution d'un ester fonctionnalisé non saturé dans un solvant organique hydrophobique, la dissolution d'un médicament et/ou d'un agent biologiquement actif dans de l'eau, le mélange des deux solutions pour former une émulsion d'eau dans de l'huile, formant une solution aqueuse stabilisante, le mélange de l'émulsion d'eau dans de l'huile et de la solution stabilisante pour former une émulsion d'eau dans de l'huile, et l'évaporation du solvant organique.
