The invention concerns a process for preparing 6-aminocapronitrile or 6- aminocapronitrile-hexamethylene diamine mixtures by: a) reacting 5- formylvaleronitrile with ammonia and hydrogen in the presence of hydrogenation catalysts selected from the group comprising metals or metal compounds of rhenium, copper and elements of the eight subgroups, a hydrogenation discharge product being obtained; and b) extracting from the hydrogenation discharge product 6-aminocapronitrile and optionally hexamethylene diamine, provided that the hydrogenation catalyst does not contain copper, nickel or copper and nickel as its only components.

L'invention concerne la préparation de 6-aminocapronitrile ou de mélanges de 6-aminocapronitrile/diamine d'hexaméthylène, par a) réaction de 5-formylvaléronitrile avec de l'ammoniac et de l'hydrogène en présence de catalyseurs d'hydrogénation, sélectionnés dans le groupe comprenant des métaux ou des composés métalliques de rhénium, de cuivre ou des éléments du huitième groupe secondaire, ce qui donne lieu à un produit de rejet d'hydrogénation, et par b) obtention de 6-aminocapronitrile et éventuellement de diamine d'hexaméthylène à partir du produit de rejet d'hydrogénation, sous réserve que le catalyseur d'hydrogénation ne contienne pas pour uniques constituants du cuivre, du nickel ou du cuivre et du nickel.
