A clothes pin for use with a clothes line which is easy to handle, does not require a container for storage, is inexpensive, and cannot be dropped to the ground or other supporting surface and lost. Each automatic clothes pin comprises an elongate flexible member having a first end and a second end, a slidable connection means for engaging the clothes line at the first end of the elongate flexible member, a clothes pin, and fixingmeans for fixing the clothes pin to the second end of the elongate flexible member.
