A wastewater treatment system for treating excess wastewater from a sewer system includes a container having first and second portions adapted to receive excess wastewater from the sewer system, and a generally horizontally oriented screen arrangement disposed in the second portion of the container. The system further includes a treating agent dispenser for introducing a treating agent into the wastewater, and an effluent passage in fluid communication with the second portion of the container. During a sufficient rain event, the wastewater flows from the sewer system into the container, through the screen arrangement, and then into the effluent passage, such that the wastewater flows generally in a first direction through the first portion of the container, then generally in a second direction different than the first direction through the second portion of the container. The treating agent dispenser is operative to introduce the treating agent to thereby sufficiently disinfect at least a portion of the wastewater.
L'invention concerne un système de traitement des eaux usées conçu pour traiter le surplus d'eaux usées provenant d'un système d'égout, qui comporte une cuve ayant une première et une seconde partie destinée à recevoir le surplus d'eaux usées du système d'égout, et un dispositif de crible orienté d'ordinaire horizontalement placé dans la seconde partie de la cuve. Le système comporte en outre un distributeur d'agent de traitement qui introduit un tel agent dans les eaux usées, et un passage d'effluent en communication fluidique avec la second partie de la cuve. Lors d'un événement de pluie suffisant, les eaux usées s'écoulent du système d'égout dans la cuve, traversant le dispositif de crible, puis dans le passage d'effluent, ainsi, les eaux usées s'écoulent d'ordinaire dans une première direction traversant la première partie de la cuve, puis d'ordinaire dans une seconde direction traversant la seconde partie de la cuve. Le distributeur d'agent de traitement est destiné à introduire ledit agent de traitement qui permet de suffisamment désinfecter au moins une partie des eaux usées.
