ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to novel 3-thio- substituted cephalosporin acids and esters which are useful as antibiotics or as intermediates in the preparation of antibiotic substances respectively, and a process for the preparation thereof which comprises reacting a 3-halo or 3-substituted-sulfonyloxy cephalosporin compound with a thiol.
