A-18113/A/CGM 360 Subsituted phenols as stabilisers for chlorinated polymers Abstract of the Disclosure A composition comprising a) a chlorinated polymer, and b) at least one compound of formula I Image (I) wherein X is a group Image , -S- , Image or Image , R1 and R2 are each independently of the other C1-C20alkyl, hydroxy- and/or halogen-substituted C1-C10alkyl, C3-C20alkenyl, C5-C12cycloalkyl, C1-C4alkyl-substituted C5-C8cyclcalkyl, phenyl or phenyl which is substituted by 1 to 3 radicals Al, which radicals Al are each independently of one another selected from the group consisting of C1-C10alkyl, halogen, hydroxy, methoxy and ethoxy, R1 and R2 are further C7-C10phenylalkyl or C7-C10phenylalkyl which is substituted in the phenyl moiety by 1 to 3 radicals A2, which radicals A2 are each independently of one another selected from the group consisting of C1-C20alkyl, halogen, hydroxy, methoxy and ethoxy, and R3 is phenyl or phenyl which is substituted by 1 to 3 radicals A3, which radicals A3 are each independently of one another selected from the group consisting of C1-C10alkyl, halogen, hydroxy, methoxy, ethoxy and (C1-C8alkyl)oxycarbonyl, with the proviso that at least one of the radicals R1 and R2 is phenyl or substituted phenyl as defined above and R is different from methyl if R2 is phenyl. Some of the compounds of formula I are novel.
