For mechanical defibration of wood, the method comprises kneading wood and separating fibres from the wood by means of the contours of the defibration surface. A regular contour of the defibration surface and a correct speed of the surface in relation to the wood to be treated generate a regular cycle length for the defibration in such a way that a half of the cycle length corresponds to the relaxation time of the wood raw material under the defibration conditions. The defibration surface (1) is provided in the direction of motion (3) of the surface with a wave pattern in which the tops are located at regular intervals and which coincides with a wave pattern of sine wave type at least at the leading portions (4) in the direction of motion of the defibration surface, said portions conveying energy to the wood raw material.

L'invention concerne un procédé de défibrage du bois qui consiste à malaxer le bois et à en séparer les fibres à l'aide des contours de la surface de défibrage. Un contour régulier de la surface de défibrage et une vitesse appropriée de la surface par rapport au bois à traiter permettent d'obtenir une durée régulière du cycle de défibrage de manière à ce qu'une moitié de la durée du cycle corresponde au temps de relaxation du matériau ligneux brut dans des conditions de défibrage. Dans son sens de mouvement (3), la surface de défibrage (1) est pourvue d'un train d'ondes dans lequel les crêtes se trouvent à intervalles réguliers, et qui coïncide avec un train d'ondes de type ondes sinusoïdales, du moins au niveau des sections-guide (4) dans le sens de mouvement de la surface de défibrage, lesdites sections acheminant l'énergie jusqu'au matériau ligneux brut.
