A system for disinfecting a fluid, including a flow cell including one or more inlet and outlet ports, configured to communicate a fluid containing a biological contaminant from the inlet port(s) to the outlet port(s) through an intenor portion thereof, and one or more point radiation sources disposed about the flow cell, operable for delivering radiation to the biological contaminant, wherein an interior surface of the flow cell reflects the ra-diation delivered to the biological contaminant by the point radiation source(s), and wherein the intenor surface of the flow cell reflects the radiation delivered to the bio-logical contaminant by the point radiation source(s) such that a radiation intensity is uniform throughout the intenor portion of the flow cell In one exemplary embodiment, the flow cell is an integrating sphere Optionally, a photo--catalyzing material is disposed on at least a portion of the interior surface of the flow cell.
L'invention concerne un système de désinfection de fluide, comprenant une cellule d'écoulement comportant un ou plusieurs orifices d'entrée et de sortie, configurée pour faire communiquer un fluide contenant un contaminant biologique du ou des orifices d'entrée au/aux orifices de sortie à travers une partie intérieure de celle-ci, et une ou plusieurs sources de radiation ponctuelles entourant la cellule d'écoulement, actionnables pour appliquer un rayonnement au contaminant biologique, une surface intérieure de la cellule d'écoulement reflétant le rayonnement appliqué au contaminant biologique par la ou les sources de radiation ponctuelles, et la surface intérieure de la cellule d'écoulement reflétant le rayonnement appliqué au contaminant biologique par la ou les sources de radiation ponctuelles de telle sorte que l'intensité de rayonnement est uniforme dans toute la partie intérieure de la cellule d'écoulement. Dans un mode de réalisation à titre d'exemple, la cellule d'écoulement est une sphère intégrante. Éventuellement, on dispose un matériau photocatalysant sur au moins une partie de la surface intérieure de la cellule d'écoulement.
